Four Seasons Resort Maldives Announce DeepFlight Submarine Dives

Excursions Of Grandeur

A trip to the Maldives shouts opulence. Those who go to the Maldives do not go to backpack, but rather to enjoy the unbridled luxury the islands have to offer. The Four Seasons have taken diving excursions to a completely new level, offering guests the opportunity to take a piloted submarine to view coral and marine life.

The Deep flight Super Falcon 3S

The vessel in question, is a 3 seat battery powered submarine vessel, capable of housing two guests and their professional pilot. The Super Falcon allows guests to enjoy a 360 view, in their own pressurised and air-conditioned viewing bubble. The Super Falcon has been designed with the environment in mind, meaning that the minimised electric and acoustic emissions allow guests to interact with the marine life in perfect harmony. Furthermore, the technology aboard the submarine allows the vessel to glide and hover in the water, eliminating the need to land on the fragile reefs. Safety, of course, was an integral part of the design process. The sub is tracked via a surface team, and onboard thrust systems allow the unit to rise to the surface in the unlikely event of power loss.

The Dive

Thanks to the communication systems, the pilot can communicate with guests in real time as you glide through the Maldives only UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Throughout this hour long dive, guests can view coral formations, as well as enjoy close encounters with turtles, sharks, rays and dolphins. Guests will dive as deep as 37m, in absolute safety. Guests must be between 1.2m and 1.9m, and be under 120kg. Children above 7 and within these requirements are welcomed to join.

The personal submarine excursion for up to two passengers can be booked for $1,500.
