Construction well underway on new Vard 82m explorer yacht

New 82m explorer yacht project KIlkea taking shape in Norway

Currently under construction at commercial shipyard Vard, in Norway, is a Vard 1-08 platform ready to be customised to her owner’s needs.

Superyacht-Kilkea-Vard-06Bannenberg & Rowell Design came up with a tough-looking exterior plan that will blend the proven sea keeping abilities of the platform with modern superyacht-standard features.

The vessel is expected to be launched this year, and will be able to accommodate up to 36 guests.

The vessel is designed to operate in remote locations around the world, with superb ocean going abilities that will ensure guest comfort during these voyages. Kilkea is developed to support her guests and crew for up to 30 days without the need to rely on land based support. Low fuel consumption and a clean design notation means that environmentally sensitive areas can be explored with complete peace of mind, with her ICE-C classed hull also allowing her to operate in light ice conditions. The vessel will comply with Passenger Yacht Code regulations.
