Thailand Yacht Reopening Becomes Clearer

The Thailand Yacht Brokers Association have announced that the centre for Covid-19 situation administration has agreed to allow pleasure yachts to once again enter the Kingdom of Thailand and for the crew to quarantine on board the vessel for not less than 14 days.

The vessel must apply in advance to enter the kingdom through a recognised Thai shipping agent. All crew must have a medical certificate and health insurance for at least 100,000 US dollars covering Covid-19.

All crew must record and report their temperature twice daily from original port of departure, on route to Thailand and undergo 3 separate tests for Covid-19 during arrival quarantine period.

Vessels must anchor at one of two designated anchorage spots.

In the Andaman Sea, within 500 metres of position 08°01’30″N 98°29’00″E. Approximately 1.30 nautical miles to the east of the island of Ko Nakha Noi.

In the Gulf of Thailand, within 500 metres of position 12°49’24″N 100°54’06″E. Approximately 0.25 nautical miles to the southwest of the entrance to Ocean Marina in Pattaya.

As to when the new regulations come in to place, a further update will be published early next week.
